I like trailers--in moderation. More than three before a film showing is too many. These days, given the fact that many films are too long, having five or six trailers makes for what seems like an interminable evening. Your analysis quite reasonably focuses on YouTube. Is there any way to judge the effectiveness of theatrical trailers?

Question - I'm no making-money-off-YouTube expert, but perhaps the studios are also considering the fact they can monetize their trailers that rack up millions of views on there, no? Maybe for some of these trailers they break even.
