Interesting as always. Totally unrelated yet I’ve been on a sci-fi binge recently that includes the utterly bonkers, low-tech Turkish Star Wars. 🫡

Hello! I would like to recommend cocktail glasses from mcdonaldpaper https://mcdonaldpaper.com/libbey-l3536-8-oz-footed-highball-glass-36-cs/ We ordered them for our bar — they look stylish, the glass is durable, and they don't become cloudy after washing. The shapes are classic and comfortable to hold. Our guests appreciate the presentation, and we appreciate the reliability and price. A very worthy option!

Really enjoyed this—totally feel the fatigue around how AI gets depicted in film. I just watched Mission Impossible and was similarly let down by “the Entity” (really… did we even workshop that one?)

I’ve just kicked off a series looking at sci-fi and fiction through a cyborg lens. Started with Blade Runner. https://open.substack.com/pub/signalstatic/p/lukes-hand-blade-runner?r=2f2ha2&utm_medium=ios Would be great to connect with you or anyone else here thinking about the intersection of tech/design/AI and storytelling in this space.

I came across a detailed analysis that is really useful - https://nocramming.com/blog/does-turnitin-detect-ai-nocramming-investigates. The material explains how the Turnitin system works and how successful it is in detecting texts created with the help of AI. It is especially useful for those who use neural networks for learning and want to avoid problems with anti-plagiarism.
